As difficult as it may be to believe, there’s a few advantages to being my age.<\/p>\n

One, I’m still vertical, and…
\nTwo, I did all my stupid stuff before the Internet happened.<\/p>\n

I still do stupid things but people expect that from old people so they just shake their heads.<\/p>\n

\"Naked-runner-sized\"<\/a>But you don’t see any pictures\u00a0of me running down the street naked or something else really weird.<\/p>\n

I’m too old for running anyway.<\/p>\n

Keeping dumb pictures off the Internet is a lesson that appears to be missing for most young folks today.<\/p>\n

It’s amazing what people put on Facebook and Twitter these days.<\/p>\n

My prime scientific example of craziness is reality TV.<\/p>\n

\"yay-tv-sized\"<\/a>There seems to be no shortage of people with little brains and common sense lining up to be on TV.<\/p>\n

As someone who spent a lot of years on TV, I don’t see the allure of being before the camera.<\/p>\n

But that attitude seems to be rare.<\/p>\n

A lot of people will do just about anything to get on some TV show.<\/p>\n

And if’s a “reality” show, the nuttier they are the better their chances of making it.<\/p>\n

It’s like “The Bachelor” – the wife’s guilty pleasure.<\/p>\n

Because the wife likes it, I sit there and scream at these dummies.
\nMakes me feel good.<\/p>\n

Now, think:
\nHow many are really there looking their soul mate?<\/p>\n

How about none.<\/p>\n

It’s their big chance to get on TV and be famous.<\/p>\n

Being famous is nice because you get a various amount of money and people fawn over you so you feel good about yourself.<\/p>\n

Back to the show…outside of an occasional weird moment, they all seem like lovely, warm ladies looking for marriage.<\/p>\n

A couple of years ago, the losers were invited back for a show called “The Bachelor Pad”.<\/p>\n

\"Bachelor-Pad\"<\/a>Holy cow – these were the same, sweet ladies?<\/p>\n

Just about all of them were drinking, partying,\u00a0fooling around 24 hours a day and talking smack about each other.<\/p>\n

They cancelled that show after a couple of seasons.<\/p>\n

I can see why.<\/p>\n

It undermined the whole looking-for-love thing.<\/p>\n

Back to being on TV.<\/p>\n

When one gets old enough they see it for what it is: a job, not a life style.<\/p>\n

The good stuff was you can go places, do things and meet people the average person would never have a chance to do.<\/p>\n

The bad stuff was the pay stinks, too many of your co-workers define the word diva because they just want to be on TV, management is usually former sales people and one has to look nice before leaving the house.<\/p>\n

But that doesn’t stop people constantly trying to get a job on local TV.<\/p>\n

Then when they get too old or make too much money the boss pulls out the “We’re going in another direction” speech.<\/p>\n

So they move to public relations.<\/p>\n

There’s a big move.<\/p>\n

Damn, I must be grumpy today.<\/p>\n
