I was cruising through Google one night.<\/p>\n

My search was idle curiosity about other websites and how they look at old people.
\nBeing old I have some interest in that area.<\/p>\n

If you Google “Grumpy Seniors”, we’re up there as #1.
\nThank you very much.<\/p>\n

\"grumpy<\/a>Then it’s followed by lots of pages\u00a0of websites dealing with\u00a0why old folks are grumpy.<\/p>\n

I didn’t realize it was such a burning issue.<\/p>\n

Most seniors I know are quite pleasant.
\nIncluding me.<\/p>\n

These sites really\u00a0suck.<\/p>\n

Not to say what you’re reading is a prime example of Pulitzer material, but the others are so self-important and\u00a0serious.<\/p>\n

As an old coot I am more than qualified to pass judgment on all this.<\/p>\n

They treat old age like a disease and spend way too much time on what makes seniors happy and what to do with a grumpy person.<\/p>\n

Rule #1 –\u00a0a good nap cures about anything.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, here’s answers to those\u00a0questions everyone seems to be searching for:<\/p>\n

Seniors are happy when they get involved in something besides sitting on their butt wondering why everything aches.
\nJust like all other people.<\/p>\n

Deal with a grumpy senior the same way you’d\u00a0deal with anyone else.
\nIf they’re being pissy –\u00a0ignore them and go find some happy people to hang out with.<\/p>\n

Or you can\u00a0toss them a movie ticket and say “Get off your butt.”<\/p>\n

Then leave.
\nThey’d rather be left alone anyway.<\/p>\n

Some experts say they need a hug.
\nOkay\u00a0– so give them some.<\/p>\n

Good ones.
\nLong ones.<\/p>\n

\"Dark<\/a>But what they really need is a bag of dark chocolate or a $50 bill.
\nThat’s perk anyone up.<\/p>\n

Scientists are beginning to discover dark chocolate is a wonder food.<\/p>\n

It lowers blood pressure, cures things like ED and the sniffles.<\/p>\n

Dark chocolate is what goes in to Dobash Cake and we’ve already established that’s the finest food on Earth.<\/p>\n

Now get out there and make someone happy.<\/p>\n

If you want to start with someone easy, bring me chocolate.
\nThe expensive kind.<\/p>\n
