This is a hard-won lesson from being around women most of my life.<\/p>\n

You can’t win.<\/p>\n

\"Yes<\/a>Logic doesn’t enter in to any discussion so don’t even go there.<\/p>\n

The only correct answer is, “Yes dear”.<\/p>\n

The wife wants to go to Japan with her friends next year.
\nYes dear.<\/p>\n

You don’t mind?
\nYes dear, I don’t – have a good time.<\/p>\n

Do you want to come?
\nYes dear, but you know as a member of the disabled club I can’t walk that much and I’d be a drag.<\/p>\n

So you really don’t mind?
\nYes, dear.<\/p>\n

Big hug.<\/p>\n

Are you beginning to see how this works?<\/p>\n

I’ve gotten along fairly well with most of the ladies in my life following that rule.
\nExcept for two.<\/p>\n

\"Yes<\/a>One slapped my face.
\nHard.<\/p>\n

I probably asked for it.
\nSomehow.<\/p>\n

Maybe I forgot to say, “Yes dear”.<\/p>\n

The other is Lady Luck.<\/p>\n

I’ve always felt I’ve lived a charmed\u00a0life but she and I must have a serious discussion before I go to Vegas at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

She can be a bit flighty and I’d like to have her full attention this time.<\/p>\n

I’m looking at adding to the retirement fund in a big way.
\nSome help here would be appreciated.<\/p>\n

I’m sure some of you he-men out there are shaking your head over this.<\/p>\n

Listen, “Yes dear” doesn’t mean you’re a wuss and\u00a0giving in.<\/p>\n

It means keeping the little lady happy.
\nThen – go do what you want.<\/p>\n

After she finds out and calls you an idiot, you say…
\nYes dear.<\/p>\n

And move on.<\/p>\n

It really is that simple.<\/p>\n
