The wife enters my office.<\/p>\n

\"Birthday<\/a>I already wished her happy birthday on Facebook.<\/p>\n

A cake with 500 candles was included.<\/p>\n

It probably started a 20 acre brush fire somewhere in Arizona.<\/p>\n

“You should call her”<\/p>\n

I’m busy right now.<\/p>\n

“Your sister wants to talk with you”<\/p>\n

My sister’s an old-fashioned lady.
\nShe knows how to use the phone.<\/p>\n

“So you’re not going to call her?”<\/p>\n

She’s probably out with her 153 family members having a party somewhere.<\/p>\n

Anyway, we’ll see her when we go mooch Thanksgiving dinner in November.<\/p>\n

“That’s 5 months away. You should call your sister”<\/p>\n

One has to understand\u00a0the wife’s never gone more than 18 hours without checking in with each and every girlfriend.<\/p>\n

For her five months is an eternity.
\nFor me – it’s like almost next week.<\/p>\n

Tell you what – here’s my phone.
\nYou call her.<\/p>\n

“You want me to call her?”<\/p>\n

You’re the one that thinks we should talk to her right now.
\nAnd you’ll be the one yacking to her all night.<\/p>\n

“So you’re not going to call your sister? She loves you.”<\/p>\n

And I love her.
\nI just don’t have anything to say besides happy birthday and I already did that.<\/p>\n

“Your not going to call her?”<\/p>\n

This is starting to go in circles.<\/p>\n

I’ve been saying that for the past 10 minutes.
\nAnd I’m busy.<\/p>\n

“What kind of brother are you?”<\/p>\n

Obviously a bad one.<\/p>\n

Also a grumpy one if this continues much longer.
\nSigh.<\/p>\n

Okay.
\nI called her.<\/p>\n
